My ward had logged a total of 162 voters all day long. Not a great turnout to say the least. People just don't realize that voting is not a privilege...it is a DUTY and should be treated as such. I hope the Charter Commission is listening. The worst thing about this most recent election is not who won or lost, but how few people cared enough to go to the polls. Instant Runoff Voting is a major way to give that hope, and eliminating all electronics, which is hidden processing of our votes, in favor of citizen run elections with paper ballots hand counted, and perhaps we could resurrect this democracy of ours.
